  • What People Are Saying About Military Mom Talk Radio

"Buck Stienke and I were honored to be on Military Moms Talk Radio show last week. Wow! What a dedicated bunch of wonderful (and witty) ladies. We're proud to be a part of and associated with a group like Military Moms in support of and dedicated to our armed forces, both past and present. Oorah!" - Ken Farmer and Buck Stienke Co-Authors of the Black Eagle Force series. "Appearing on Military Mom Talk Radio was a fantastic experience. Sandra and her team were wonderful to work with. Programs such as this one are so important because they cut through the hype and sensationalism and offer real military families a chance to address the general public about the realities of military life. All too often, the media focus is on the hardships of military life, so it's refreshing to have an outlet like Military Mom Talk Radio where guests can share not only the challenges of military life, but also the rewards. Less than one percent of our citizens serve in the Armed Forces. Understandably, there's a huge military/civilian divide. With our country involved in two wars, we can all benefit from more programming featuring the stories of real military families." - Andi Hurley

  1. I would love it if you would list my website, http://www.operationwearehere.com as a resource (80+ pages) of resources for the military community and military supporters!

  2. Please help us spread the word in letting Military Patrons know what the govt is trying to pass. . .
Military Patrons Unite to Save the Military Shopping Benefit!

The Coalition to Save our Military Shopping Benefits is a united coalition started by the American Logistics Association and the Armed Forces Marketing Council. Its mission is to protect the shopping benefits (Defense Commissaries and Exchanges) that saves more than $6.5 Billion every year for our Service Members, their Families, Veterans, and Retirees.

Whether you are Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard, family member, Veteran, Retiree or concerned citizen, you can help us prevent Congress and the Department of Defense from taking away our resale shopping benefits.

The Congressional Budget Office (2011 Budget Option 6) recommends defunding the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA). It further recommends consolidating a new commissary system with the military exchange systems, resulting in a single military resale system. To compensate for the loss of the appropriated subsidy for DeCA, the Congressional Budget Office recommends raising prices by 7% on food and other merchandise.

Today, military families and retirees save an average of 31% by shopping in the commissary and an average of over 20% by shopping in the exchanges. These savings to military families in 2010 amounted to $6.5 Billion. Defunding the Commissaries and consolidating the Exchanges would be devastating to the military resale system and to the military families who benefit from it.

If Congress and DoD eliminate or consolidate the military resale system, military families and retirees will pay $6.5 Billion more for groceries and household items in addition to losing $300 million that directly supports quality of life initiatives and lowering the Cost-of-Living Allowance.

Military Patrons must take action by doing the following:
    • Visit http://www.saveourbenefit.com and become educated on the benefit and how this will directly impact our Military families.

    • Get Involved by reaching out to your Congressman and spread the word to everyone in your Military community to do the same.
Keep Informed- The Coalition to Save our Military Shopping Benefits is working hard to ensure military families, their dependents, Veterans and retirees have a voice in shaping the policies that impact our nation’s ability to keep the promise of a resale shopping benefit. You can take action on timely issues that will impact the protection and availability of the benefit for all who have served, or you can just sign up to receive alerts and news, all for free at http://www.saveourbenefit.com.
